Jakob Schwegler (2 may 1793 Hergiswil - 7 january 1866 Lucerne), swiss sculptor, was Thorvaldsen's sculptor assistant for the carving of the monumental sculpture settled in Lucerne in memory of the Swiss Guards who defended Louis XVI when he was threatened and caught during the events of the Tuileries in 1792.
