Summer 2008 |
Henri Morez, born in Romania in 1922, his real name being Henri Schinezer, exhibited in 1938 at the Salon d'Automne in Paris. He was a pupil of the painter Mane-Katz.
In many ways, the work of Henri Morez reminds me of the novel written by Carson Mac Cullers, ( 1940 ) The Heart is a Lonely Hunter ; "In the town there were two mutes, and they were always together. Early every morning they would come out from the house where they lived and walk arm in arm down the street to work. The two friends were very different." (ditto, the first lines of the novel.)
