Antoine de Sypiorski, (1890 - 1963) was born in Saint-Dizier, from polish parents, and became a doctor, as well as a known painter at the time. He exhibited in many "Salons" in Paris. This remarquable painting is dated 1931 and reminds of the german school called "New objectivity", or Neue sachlichkeit. It was reproduced in the Dictionary of contemporary painters published in 1933 by Edouard Joseph (p331)
